How it works:
Calcitriol is the active form of vitamin D that binds to vitamin D receptors in the intestine, bone, and kidneys to regulate calcium and phosphate homeostasis. It increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate, supports normal bone mineralization, and corrects hypocalcemia.
