Kanamac 500 Injection is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This may include infections of the urinary tract, bones and joints, lungs (eg. pneumonia), blood, and some others. It is also used in the treatment of resistant tuberculosis. Kanamac 500 Injection works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening. This medicine may lead to hearing loss, balance disorder (loss of balance), injection site pain, and kidney damage as side effects in some patients. Therefore, please follow all the instructions given by your doctor while using this medicine. If these side effects do not resolve or worsen, please consult your doctor. Your doctor may monitor you with regular kidney function tests, hearing tests, and urine tests during treatment. Some patients may also be advised to get the blood levels of this medicine measured. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Safety Advice: Alcohol: It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Kanamac 500 Injection. Please consult your doctor. Pregnancy: Kanamac 500 Injection is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks. Breast feeding: Kanamac 500 Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body. Driving: It is not known whether Kanamac 500 Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Please consult your doctor. Kidney: Kanamac 500 Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
