It works by reducing certain substances in the body called histamines that are responsible for the allergic symptoms. It also reduces swelling inside the nose and thus decreases symptoms such as stuffy nose. This helps in easy breathing and makes you feel better. Drink plenty of liquids, including chicken soup. It can make you feel better.
How it works:
D Montus 5 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: desloratadine and montelukast, which treat sneezing and a runny nose caused by allergies. Desloratadine is an antiallergic that blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Directions for use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. D Montus 5 mg/10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Warning & Precaution:
Safety Advice: Alcohol: Alcohol should be used with caution while taking D Montus 5 mg/10 mg Tablet. Pregnancy: D Montus 5 mg/10 mg Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks. Breast feeding: D Montus 5 mg/10 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding.
