Sylate-M 500 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of bleeding. It works by preventing the breakdown of clots and controls excessive bleeding during menstruation (periods). Sylate-M 500 Tablet should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on what you are being treated for. Do not stop taking it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. It may cause side effects like skin rash, headache, nausea, and loss of appetite. These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days. Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney problems, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It might cause dizziness, if happens better to avoid driving or machinery work. This helps prevent complications of excessive bleeding such as hemorrhage. It is advisable to use the medicine as prescribed for it to be effective.
How it works:
Sylate-M 500 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid. Ethamsylate is an antifibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of clots and controls excessive bleeding during menstruation (periods). Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Directions for use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sylate-M 500 Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Safety Advice: Alcohol: Alcohol should be used with caution while taking Sylate-M 500 Tablet.
Pregnancy: Sylate-M 500 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.
Breast feeding: Sylate-M 500 Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.
