Dafadros LS Tablet combines Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol, synthetic female hormones used as an oral contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. It also treats acne in females aged 14 and older and manages PMDD. Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol work by suppressing ovulation, altering the uterine lining, and thickening cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg. How it works:
DAFADROS LS functions by inhibiting the release of gonadotrophic hormones responsible for triggering ovulation and facilitating the successful implantation of a fertilized egg. Additionally, DAFADROS LS modifies the thickness of cervical mucus, making it challenging for sperm to enter the uterus and fertilize the egg. These actions collectively create an unfavorable environment for achieving a successful pregnancy. DAFADROS LS is also effective in alleviating symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder by regulating fluctuations in sex hormone levels following ovulation or just before menstruation. It can reduce the production of male sex hormones like testosterone, thereby helping to control hormonal acne by decreasing excess oil secretion (sebum) in the skin.
Directions for use:
Take DAFADROS LS exactly as prescribed by your physician. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water and do not crush or chew it. You can take DAFADROS LS with or without meals, but aim to take it at the same time each day. Ensure you do not skip any doses during your treatment regimen, as this may reduce its effectiveness. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Missing doses may lead to bleeding or spotting. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration of therapy based on your age, body weight, and health condition.
Warning & Precaution:
PREGNANCY DAFADROS LS is not recommended for use in pregnant women or those who suspect they might be pregnant. It is also not advised for women who have had jaundice due to pregnancy. Caution is needed for women who have developed pregnancy patches (golden brown patches on the face), hearing loss, porphyria, skin itching with rash and blisters, or sudden movements of the body (Sydenham’s chorea) during pregnancy or after using certain sex hormones. DRIVING AND USING MACHINES Do not drive or handle heavy machinery if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, or blurred vision after taking DAFADROS LS. ALCOHOL Avoid consuming alcohol while taking DAFADROS LS. KIDNEY DAFADROS LS is not recommended for patients with kidney diseases (such as kidney failure). Consult your doctor before taking it. LIVER DAFADROS LS is not recommended for patients who have or have had liver diseases (such as liver tumors). It should be used with caution in patients with gallbladder problems. Consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERGY Do not take DAFADROS LS if you are allergic to Drospirenone or Ethinyl Estradiol. LUNGS DAFADROS LS is not recommended for patients with blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). Consult your doctor before taking it. HEART DISEASE DAFADROS LS is not recommended for patients who have or have had heart diseases (such as heart attack, stroke, angina, mini-stroke, or uncontrolled high blood pressure).
