ACILOC RD 20 Tablet is a combination medication containing Domperidone and Omeprazole, used to manage conditions such as peptic ulcers, GERD, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, reduces gastric acid production, promoting healing of ulcers and alleviating symptoms of acid reflux. Domperidone, a prokinetic agent, enhances gastrointestinal motility and prevents nausea and vomiting by blocking dopamine receptors. This tablet should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals for optimal effect. Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, and dry mouth. It is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical consultation.
Active Ingredients: Domperidone 10 mg and Omeprazole 20 mg. Indications: Used for treating peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Mechanism of Action: Omeprazole reduces stomach acid production, while Domperidone improves gastric motility and prevents nausea. Administration: Should be taken orally 15-30 minutes before meals. Common Side Effects: Includes headache, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, and dry mouth.
ACILOC RD 20 TABLET contains two medications: domperidone and omeprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic medicine with anti-emetic properties. It works by blocking the actions of a chemical messenger called dopamine in the gut and throughout the brain and spinal cord. This action stimulates the gut, reduces acid reflux, and speeds up the movement of food from the stomach into the intestines. Additionally, it blocks the transmission of nerve signals between the vomiting centers and the brain, which reduces the occurrence of nausea and vomiting. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion by blocking the actions of a protein membrane called H+K+ATPase (proton pump) located in the stomach lining. By reducing stomach acid production, ACILOC RD 20 TABLET helps prevent the worsening of ulcers, heals existing ulcers and esophageal lesions, and provides relief from unpleasant gastrointestinal symptoms such as acidity, bloating, burping, and indigestion.
