Acupat Ophthalmic Solution is a combination medication containing Ketorolac Tromethamine and Olopatadine, used to treat symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis and to reduce inflammation and irritation following eye surgeries. Ketorolac works by blocking prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation and pain. Olopatadine is an antihistamine that blocks the effects of histamines, relieving allergy symptoms such as itching and redness. Administer this solution as prescribed by your doctor, typically by instilling 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) twice daily. Common side effects include a burning sensation, blurred vision, and mild eye irritation.
Active Ingredients: Ketorolac Tromethamine 0.4% and Olopatadine 0.1%. Indications: Treats seasonal allergic conjunctivitis and reduces eye inflammation and irritation post-surgery. Mechanism of Action: Ketorolac reduces inflammation by blocking prostaglandins, and Olopatadine alleviates allergy symptoms by blocking histamines. Administration: Ophthalmic use; apply as directed by a physician, usually instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) twice daily. Common Side Effects: Burning sensation, blurred vision, mild eye itching, redness, irritation, and headache.
ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION contains two active ingredients: ketorolac and olopatadine. Ketorolac is a pain-relieving medication that inhibits the release of certain chemicals, such as prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation, redness, and swelling. When used topically in the eyes, it alleviates symptoms like redness, soreness, pain, itching, and swelling. Olopatadine, an anti-allergic agent, works by blocking the release of specific chemical messengers, such as histamines, that trigger allergic reactions in the eyes. Together, these ingredients help manage and relieve symptoms associated with allergic conjunctivitis, including eye itching, irritation, and inflammation.
Use ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION exactly as directed by your physician. This medication is intended for ophthalmic use only. Tilt your head slightly backward and gently pull down your lower eyelid. Place a few drops of the solution into your eye and keep your eyes closed for 2 minutes. If needed, repeat the process for the other eye. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying the solution and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Make sure to wash your hands before and after application. Allow a 5-minute interval before applying any other eye or ear medications. Avoid touching the tip of the container to your eyes, eyelids, surrounding areas, outer ears, or fingers to prevent contamination. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment based on your age, body weight, and health condition. If there is no improvement after using the medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for further advice.
PREGNANCY ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless deemed absolutely necessary by your physician. Consult your doctor before using it. BREASTFEEDING ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION is generally not recommended for breastfeeding women unless your physician considers it essential. Consult your doctor before use. DRIVING AND USING MACHINES Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience blurred vision or light-headedness after using ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION. ALLERGY Do not use ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION if you are allergic to Ketorolac, Olopatadine, or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin). LUNGS Use ACUPAT OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION with caution if you have previously experienced asthma symptoms while taking analgesic medications. Inform your doctor before use.
