Flur Eye Drops, containing Flurbiprofen and Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, is a specialized ophthalmic solution used to manage conditions such as pupil narrowing during eye surgery, post-surgical eye inflammation, pseudophakic cystoid macular edema, and postoperative dry eye. Flurbiprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandins, reducing pain and inflammation, while Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose acts as a lubricant to alleviate dryness and irritation. Administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, this medication ensures effective management of postoperative ocular conditions. Common side effects include mild burning or stinging sensations and eye irritation. It is crucial to avoid use in cases of viral eye infections, during the third trimester of pregnancy, or in individuals with a tendency to bleed.
Active Ingredients: Contains Flurbiprofen 0.03% and Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 0.25%. Indications: Used to prevent pupil narrowing during eye surgery, manage post-surgical inflammation, pseudophakic cystoid macular edema, and postoperative dry eye. Usage: Topical ophthalmic use; dosage as directed by a physician. Side Effects: Common side effects include burning, stinging sensations, and eye irritation or discomfort. Precautions: Not recommended for viral eye infections, third-trimester pregnancy, or those with a tendency to bleed.
Flurbiprofen present in FLUR EYE DROPS works by preventing the narrowing of the pupil (inner part of the eye). This facilitates eye examination during surgery or lens changes and blocks the release of certain chemicals called prostaglandins, which cause pain, inflammation, and irritation in the eye. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose acts as an eye lubricant to reduce dryness and soreness, and it also helps manage damage to the eye caused by certain eye diseases.
Instil FLUR EYE DROPS into the eye as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. It is for ophthalmic use only. FLUR EYE DROPS is normally administered by your doctor. The doctor will instil the drops into your eye. If you are administering the eye drops yourself, wash your hands first, then tilt your head back and look at the ceiling. Gently pull the lower eyelid down to form a small pocket. Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it to release a drop into the affected eye. Close your eye for 30 seconds. Avoid touching the tip of the container to any surface to prevent contamination.
PREGNANCY CONTRAINDICATED: FLUR EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in the third trimester of pregnancy. Contact your doctor for advice before using it. BREASTFEEDING CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR: Before using FLUR EYE DROPS, inform your physician if you are breastfeeding. ALLERGY CONTRAINDICATED: Do not use FLUR EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Flurbiprofen, Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), similar medicines, aspirin, or any other ingredients of this medicine.
