How it works:
OMEZ D SR CAPSULE contains two active ingredients: domperidone and omeprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic agent with anti-emetic properties. It works by blocking the effects of dopamine, a chemical messenger, in the gut as well as in the brain and spinal cord. This action stimulates gastrointestinal motility, reduces acid reflux, and speeds up the movement of food from the stomach into the intestines. Additionally, domperidone blocks the transmission of nerve signals between the vomiting centers and the brain, thus helping to reduce nausea and vomiting. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion. It achieves this by inhibiting the H+K+ ATPase (proton pump) located in the lining of the stomach. By decreasing the production of stomach acid, omeprazole helps manage the progression of ulcers, promotes the healing of existing ulcers and esophageal lesions, and alleviates symptoms such as acidity, bloating, burping, and indigestion.
Directions for use:
Take OMEZ D SR CAPSULE 15–30 minutes before meals or as directed by your physician. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the capsule. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration of therapy based on your age, body weight, and medical condition. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor.

PREGNANCY OMEZ D SR CAPSULE should be used in pregnant women only if considered necessary by your physician. Consult your doctor before taking it. BREASTFEEDING OMEZ D SR CAPSULE may pass into breast milk and should be used in breastfeeding women only if considered necessary by your physician. Consult your doctor for advice. DRIVING AND USING MACHINES OMEZ D SR CAPSULE does not generally affect your ability to drive or operate heavy tools or machines. However, avoid driving or handling heavy tools if your ability is affected by the medication. ALCOHOL Avoid consuming alcohol while taking OMEZ D SR CAPSULE, as it could worsen your existing condition. KIDNEY OMEZ D SR CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking it. LIVER OMEZ D SR CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with moderate or severe liver impairment. It should be used with caution in patients with mild liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERGY Do not take OMEZ D SR CAPSULE if you are allergic to Domperidone, Omeprazole, or any other proton pump inhibitors (such as rabeprazole or pantoprazole). HEART DISEASE OMEZ D SR CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with heart problems, such as prolongation of the QT interval or congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking it. USE IN PEDIATRICS OMEZ D SR CAPSULE should be used in children and adolescents (aged 12 years or older, weighing 35 kg or more). It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged below 12 years. Consult your doctor before use. USE IN GERIATRICS OMEZ D SR CAPSULE should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and older). Consult your doctor before taking it.
