How it works:
SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET contains Dicyclomine and Mefenamic acid. Dicyclomine is an anti-spasmodic and anti-cholinergic medication. It relieves smooth muscle spasms by blocking the effects of acetylcholine—a chemical responsible for muscle contraction—at its receptor sites and by exerting a direct spasmolytic effect on smooth muscles. This helps alleviate spasms in the intestines, bile ducts, ureters, and uterus. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and fever-reducing properties. It works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which is involved in the production of prostaglandins—chemicals that mediate inflammatory responses in the body.
Directions for use:
Take SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET as directed by your doctor, preferably after meals. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it. Do not change or stop your daily dose of SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET without consulting your doctor, even if you start feeling better. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration based on your age, body weight, and medical condition.
Warning & Precaution:
PREGNANCY SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET should be used with caution during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy only if deemed absolutely necessary. It is not recommended during the third trimester as it may cause fetal heart defects (such as premature closure of the ductus arteriosus), delay labor, and increase the risk of bleeding in the mother. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET. BREASTFEEDING SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET is not recommended for breastfeeding women due to the risk of serious adverse reactions in nursing infants. If SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET is necessary for the mother, breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET. DRIVING AND USING MACHINES Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, visual disturbances, or blurred vision after taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET. ALCOHOL Avoid alcohol while taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, and perforation. KIDNEY SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET is not recommended for patients with pre-existing renal disease, obstructive uropathy, or significantly impaired renal function. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET. LIVER Use SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET with caution in patients with liver impairment. Consult your doctor before starting the medication. ALLERGY Do not take SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET if you are allergic to dicyclomine, mefenamic acid, or any other components of this medication. LUNGS SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET is not recommended for patients with pre-existing asthma or aspirin-sensitive asthma. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET. HEART DISEASE SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart conditions such as heart failure or hypertension, as well as in those with increased heart rate conditions like thyrotoxicosis or congestive heart failure. It is not recommended for peri-operative pain management following coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONIL PLUS TABLET.
