Telmed CT Tablet is a prescription medication designed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in patients who require combination therapy. This tablet contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker that helps relax blood vessels, and Chlorthalidone, a diuretic that removes excess fluid and electrolytes from the body. Together, they effectively reduce blood pressure. It is particularly useful for patients who do not achieve adequate control with monotherapy. However, it is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and should be used cautiously in individuals with pre-existing liver or kidney conditions. Common side effects include dizziness, nausea, and headaches. Always consult a healthcare provider before use.
Combination Therapy: Telmed CT Tablet combines Telmisartan (40 mg) and Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg) to effectively manage high blood pressure. Mechanism of Action: Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors to relax blood vessels, while Chlorthalidone acts as a diuretic to reduce excess fluid, both contributing to lower blood pressure. Indications: Used for treating essential hypertension when single-drug therapy is inadequate. Patient Considerations: Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women and should be used cautiously in patients with liver or kidney issues. Common Side Effects: May cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, and back pain.
TELMED CT TABLET assists in lowering blood pressure. Telmisartan functions by inhibiting angiotensin, a hormone that regulates blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. This inhibition results in the relaxation of blood vessels. Chlorthalidone works by eliminating excess water and specific electrolytes from the body, which also helps to relax blood pressure and improve blood flow, ultimately reducing high blood pressure in those affected.
