Bimat Eye Drops 3ml is used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension by reducing elevated intraocular pressure. Containing Bimatoprost, a prostaglandin analogue, it increases the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, thereby lowering the pressure. This helps prevent optic nerve damage and subsequent vision loss. Common side effects include eye redness, irritation, and changes around the eye area. Always use as directed by your physician and avoid contamination by not touching the dropper tip to any surface.
Active Ingredient: Bimatoprost 0.3 mg Primary Use: Treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension Mechanism of Action: Prostaglandin analogue that increases fluid drainage from the eye, reducing intraocular pressure Dosage Form: Eye drops, typically used once daily in the evening Benefits: Lowers eye pressure, reducing the risk of optic nerve damage and vision loss
BIMAT effectively lowers intraocular pressure by enhancing the drainage of accumulated fluids (aqueous humor) within the eye through the action of bimatoprost. This relieves strain on the eyes, resulting in a reduction of elevated intraocular pressure.
Use BIMAT as directed by your doctor. It is meant for use in the eyes only. Before application, ensure your hands are clean. Administer a few drops of BIMAT into the affected eye. Close your eyes and gently press the corner of your eye with your finger for one minute. To prevent contamination, avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface. Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops or ointments after applying BIMAT. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying BIMAT and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration based on your age, weight, and medical condition. Do not stop using BIMAT without consulting your doctor, as stopping the medication may cause eye pressure to increase again.
PREGNANCY Before using BIMAT, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant. BREASTFEEDING BIMAT is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women because it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before using this medication. DRIVING AND OPERATING MACHINERY Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience blurred vision or other visual disturbances after using BIMAT. KIDNEY Use BIMAT with caution if you have kidney disease. Consult your doctor before starting treatment. LIVER Use BIMAT with caution if you have liver disease. Consult your doctor before starting treatment. ALLERGY Do not use BIMAT if you are allergic to Bimatoprost. LUNGS Use BIMAT with caution if you have respiratory problems.
