How it works:
Ranitidine binds reversibly to histamine (H2) receptors in the lining of gastric parietal cells. Histamine binding to these H2 receptors stimulates the production of stomach acid. Ranitidine selectively and competitively blocks histamine's action at H2 receptors, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Additionally, it inhibits acid secretion triggered by pentagastrin and other secretagogues.
Directions for use:
