    RANTAC INJ

Rantac Injection 5X2ml, containing Ranitidine 50 mg, is used to treat conditions like duodenal and benign gastric ulcers, reflux esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ranitidine works by inhibiting histamine (H2) receptors in the stomach lining, thereby reducing acid secretion and promoting ulcer healing. It is administered by healthcare professionals either intravenously or intramuscularly. Common side effects may include stomach pain, constipation, and nausea. It should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney, liver, or lung conditions and is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical consultation. Regular monitoring is advised to ensure safe and effective treatment.

    Product Highlights and Usage:

Active Ingredient: Contains Ranitidine 50 mg, an H2 receptor antagonist. Indications: Used for the management of duodenal ulcer, benign gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Mechanism: Reduces stomach acid by blocking histamine (H2) receptors in stomach lining cells. Usage: Administered by a physician intravenously or intramuscularly. Precautions: Not recommended for patients with severe kidney, liver, or lung issues, and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding without medical advice.

    How it works:

Ranitidine binds reversibly to histamine (H2) receptors in the lining of gastric parietal cells. Histamine binding to these H2 receptors stimulates the production of stomach acid. Ranitidine selectively and competitively blocks histamine's action at H2 receptors, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Additionally, it inhibits acid secretion triggered by pentagastrin and other secretagogues.
