Spiromide Tablet is a combination medication used to manage fluid retention (edema) associated with conditions such as heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and certain kidney disorders. It contains two diuretics: Furosemide, which acts as a powerful loop diuretic to eliminate excess fluid from the body, and Spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic that helps maintain potassium levels while preventing excessive fluid buildup. This combination is effective in reducing swelling and improving symptoms related to fluid overload. The medication is typically taken as prescribed by a healthcare provider, with the dosage tailored to the specific needs of the patient. Regular monitoring of blood electrolytes is essential to prevent potential imbalances, such as low potassium or sodium levels, which can occur with diuretic use.
Active Ingredients: Contains Furosemide and Spironolactone, both diuretics used to manage fluid retention. Primary Use: Treats conditions like edema (fluid retention) associated with heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney disorders. Mechanism: Furosemide is a loop diuretic that helps remove excess fluid, while Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic that prevents potassium loss. Dosage: Typically taken as prescribed by a healthcare provider; dosage depends on the medical condition being treated. Precautions: May cause electrolyte imbalances; regular monitoring of blood electrolytes is recommended.
SPIROMIDE works by eliminating excess water and certain electrolytes (sodium and chloride) from the body through urine, while simultaneously preserving potassium levels.
